Book a picnic table
Find out more about our bookable, under cover picnic tables which you can use during your visit to the opera
Our under cover picnic tables seat up to four people. If you require more than one table for your visit we will ensure that all tables are located together so that your guests will be seated as one group.
Any tables that have not been pre-booked will be available free of charge on the day, on a first come first served basis.
Garden Marquee
Situated in the orchard near the deli, the Garden Marquee is an under cover option with views across the gardens.
The Garden Marquee offers shelter against the elements during inclement weather, and the panels will be opened on warmer days, creating a shady retreat from the sunshine.
Festival – £25 – picnic chairs and table for up to 4 people will be provided.
Autumn – £20 – picnic chairs and table for up to 4 people will be provided.
Greenhouse Marquee
The Greenhouse Marquee is adjacent to the Archive Gallery and the main car park.
The Greenhouse Marquee offers shelter against the elements during inclement weather, and the panels will be opened on warmer days, creating a shady retreat from the sunshine.
Festival – £16 – picnic chairs and table for up to 4 people will be provided.
Autumn – £10 – picnic chairs and table for up to 4 people will be provided.
Upper Circle picnic tables
A number of covered picnic tables on the upper circle level around the opera house are available to book in advance of your visit.
Festival – £25 – max 4 people per table.
Veg Patch stretch tent
You can book a space under our Veg Patch stretch tent during the Festival. Located adjacent to the Plashett building, this stretch tent is on the site of the old vegetable patch.
Festival – £25 – picnic chairs and table for up to 4 people will be provided.
Croquet Lawn stretch tent
During the Festival you can choose to book a space under our Croquet Lawn stretch tent. This small stretch tent offers easy access to the Hamlet area for any extras you require to enhance your picnic.

Picnic furniture
You’re welcome to bring your own picnic and outdoor furniture to set up when the gardens open.
