Picnicking and dining
Fine food and a visit to Glyndebourne go hand-in-hand
Festival dining
Our on-site restaurants offer everything from afternoon teas to sumptuous fine dining. You are very welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy in the gardens, or you can save yourself the hassle and book one from us, for collection on your arrival.
You can find out more about the dining options below, which will be bookable early next year for Festival 2025 performances.
Restaurants
Middle & Over
Our fine dining restaurant – an elegant setting in which to enjoy chef Steve Groves’ new menu celebrating the best of contemporary French cuisine and locally-sourced ingredients.
Mildmay
Enjoy an afternoon tea before the performance at the Mildmay Tearooms. During the interval Mildmay serves British favourites in a relaxed dining atmosphere.
Nether Wallop
Start with a range of small plates to share with your party, followed by a main dish selected from that day’s menu cooked over coals – all created from the very best local, seasonal produce.
Picnics
Book a picnic
For many, a Glyndebourne experience wouldn’t be complete without a picnic. Let us do the work for you – our Traditional Picnic hampers come filled with favourites including Glyndebourne’s signature sausage roll, freshly baked bread and salads. Choose your place in the garden and a table and chairs will await your arrival. And if the weather’s not favourable, you’ll have a guaranteed under-cover spot.
Bringing your own picnic
As always, you are very welcome to bring your own picnic, and find a place in the gardens to enjoy the interval.
Book a picnic table
Our marquees and opera house picnic tables offer audiences protection from the elements during the interval.
If you’d like to ensure that you will be under cover in the event of bad weather, you can pre-book a space.
