Work experience, apprenticeships and internships
Find out how you can get involved with Glyndebourne.
Work experience
We are no longer running short term work experience placements for students. However, there are still plenty of other ways to get involved with some extraordinary opera experiences via our Learning and Engagement team.
We do however still work with schools through our Open Doors programme in partnership with East Sussex County Council Careers Hub. The project is a targeted work development scheme focusing on career paths and employability skills, aiming to highlight the variety of career opportunities in the theatre. The project targets young people and schools from lower socio-economic backgrounds who wouldn’t ordinarily engage with us. Through this programme, we also work with a range of supported educational settings, including SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) schools, SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health), Virtual School for children in care and students with low attendance.
You can learn about the various offstage roles that help to bring Glyndebourne’s operas to life by watching our ‘Meet the Makers’ films. Hear how these experts in their craft came to be doing the work they do.
Apprenticeships and internships
We recognise the importance of developing and nurturing talent within our industry and are therefore excited about offering apprenticeship and internship opportunities. If you are interested in either please look at our vacancies page where they will be advertised. For apprenticeships, we would ask that you have the right to work in the UK and do not have a degree level (or equivalent) qualification.
