Company Management Assistant
We are looking for an Assistant to join our Company Management team to provide administrative support for the Glyndebourne Festival & the Autumn Season
We are looking for an Assistant, preferably with relevant experience in an arts organisation, to join the Company Management team to provide administrative support for the Glyndebourne Festival & the Autumn Season. You should be organised, capable of working in a busy office environment and be flexible to work evenings and weekends.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the Head of Planning & Company Management and the Deputy Company Manager to produce and maintain the weekly rehearsal & performance schedule for the performing company, creative team and internal departments.
- Working closely with the Deputy Company Manager to assist in the scheduling of production rehearsals, music calls and fittings.
- To liaise with internal departments, creative teams and performers, ensuring all changes to the weekly schedule are appropriately communicated.
- To update and maintain the company management working documents.
- In conjunction with the Head of Planning & Company Management and the Deputy Company Manager to support the performing company & creative teams in all areas affecting their work at Glyndebourne such as induction, rehearsals, performances, travel, ticket requests and any health or personal matters.
- Assist in the coordination of all logistical and operational aspects of the artistic process, including transport and catering.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Previous administration experience
- Excellent communication / interpersonal skills
- Highly organised and detailed approach to administration
- Excellent knowledge of Google software & programmes
- Fast and accurate typing skills
- Ability to problem solve and use own initiative
- Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise
- Experience working in an arts organisation
- Interest in Opera/Theatre
Critical Challenges
The Company Management Department is the focal point of contact of Glyndebourne for the performing company, production & music staff, and internal departments. The post holder will be required to manage routine administrative tasks with frequent interruptions in this busy office environment, and be able to work well under pressure. They will be required to take initiative, leading on specific tasks, and be able to staff the office alone, carrying additional responsibility involving key decision making.
Salary and Benefits
We can offer a salary of £495.19 per week/ £25,749.88 per annum pro rata
The contractual hours of work are 35 per week. However, you may be required to work additional hours to meet the demands of the role, which will include evenings and weekends. Overtime will be paid at a single hourly rate for any hours worked over 35 per week during the period of engagement.
We offer 6.6 weeks/ 33days holiday per year (pro rata) inclusive of Bank Holidays.
