Audition announcement

We are excited to announce audition dates to be in the adult chorus for our brand new community opera Uprising, written by composer Jonathan Dove and librettist April De Angelis. The opera looks at the climate emergency through the eyes of those whom it will affect the most – the young.

Taking place on the main stage at Glyndebourne, the adult and youth chorus will perform alongside six professional singers and musicians from the Glyndebourne Sinfonia. As a member of the adult chorus, performers will be learning music, acting and singing on stage in full costume.

Auditions are open to anyone ages 20+ living within 25 miles of Glyndebourne. Auditions will be held at locations around Sussex from Tuesday 25 – Sunday 30 June 2024.

The auditions will be led by Sinead O’Neill (Director), Ashley Beauchamp (Assistant Conductor and Chorus Master) and Mike Ashcroft (Movement Director). The experienced team behind the production are focussed on developing talent; they are searching for people with enthusiasm and energy.

We strive to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all. If there are ways we can support individuals to participate in the application and auditions process please get in touch with us at takepart@glyndebourne.com.

Application closing date: Friday 21 June 2024
