Václav Luks is one of the most sought-after conductors of his generation. In 2005, he founded Collegium 1704, which under his direction performs at prestigious festivals and in concert halls across Europe, and with soloists including Magdalena Kožená, Karina Gauvin and Andreas Scholl. Their recordings have won numerous critical accolades including Trophées and Diapason d’Or. His activities have played a major part in reviving interest in the works of Czech composers Zelenka and Mysliveček. Since 2021, he has been guest conductor with the Handel & Haydn Society in Boston, and in the 2022-2025 seasons he is Artist in Residence at Kammerakademie Potsdam. He has performed with Netherlands Bach Society, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Concerto Köln, La Cetra Barockorchester Basel and other renowned orchestras in the field of early music, as well as with modern orchestras including Orchestre nationale de France, Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo and Norwegian Radio Orchestra.
