Details
Position: Conductor
He graduated in orchestral conducting, korrepetition praxis, piano, organ and composition and is now a frequent visitor to prestigious opera houses, concert halls and festivals across Europe. He was previously Principal Conductor and Consultant at Göteborg Opera and Opernhaus Graz; Chief Conductor of Aarhus Symphony Orchestra; Guest Conductor of Danish Royal Opera House; Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of Orchestra Filarmonia Veneta and Orchestra del Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza; and Principal Guest Conductor of Granada Symphony Orchestra. Currently Professor of Orchestral Conducting at the Vicenza Conservatory, he held the same role at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen until 2010. He continues to give masterclasses throughout Europe, as well as being a jury member for several international singing and orchestral conducting competitions. He has won numerous awards including a Würdigungspreis from the Austrian Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture. In June 2021, he was named as a new member of the Swedish Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. Taken from the Festival 2022 programme book.
