Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my tickets?

E-tickets will be sent seven days before the performance. For those who have requested printed tickets, these will be posted to you in advance of the performance.

What time should I get there?

Glyndebourne is open two hours before the performance, giving you plenty of time to explore our grounds and exhibitions. You can find the performance timings on the schedule here. When it is time to take your seats in the auditorium, you will hear a bell ring. The bells sound ten minutes, five minutes, and three minutes before the start of the performance. Some of our autumn performances have a short interval of 20-30 minutes. You can find the interval time on our performance schedule here. When it is time for the performance to resume, you will hear a bell ring.

What should I wear?

Whatever you feel comfortable in! The dress code is smart casual, in keeping with the more informal feel of the autumn season. While some audience members do choose to make their visit to autumn performances a special occasion and dress accordingly, others may be arriving straight from work. Please wear whatever you find warm and comfortable.

Do you have changing facilities?
Yes, we have changing rooms in the Plashett building at the foot of the car park, as indicated on the Glyndebourne site map here. You’re welcome to leave any bags in our free cloakroom near the Box Office.
