Visit Glyndebourne
See the beautiful Glyndebourne gardens in the bloom of late summer, wander around the lake and take a look at our innovative beehives and dye garden.
You can also enjoy our art and sculpture exhibitions, browse in our shop and take a peek inside the auditorium.
You can enjoy a light lunch or afternoon tea at one of our restaurants, or bring a picnic to enjoy in the garden (see below for more info on food and drink options)
Price: £8 per adult, £4 for children (under 16s) and concessions.
Visit Glyndebourne + backstage tour
Want to see what happens behind the scenes? With this ticket, you can enjoy everything above, and add a backstage tour at selected times throughout the day. You’ll join our expert guides for a 45 minute look at our history, discover what it takes to create world-class opera at Glyndebourne, and meet some of the people who make it a reality. As part of the tour, you’ll get the chance to step onto our stage, and get a singer’s eye-view of the auditorium.
Price: £18 per adult, £9 for children (under 16s) and concessions. When you book you will be asked to select a time slot for your tour, but you can arrive at any time from 11.00am onwards.

Plan your visit
- Glyndebourne will be open from 11.00am to 4.00pm on both days, and you can arrive at any time (but please ensure you arrive in time for your backstage tour if you have booked one).
- Glyndebourne is located in the Sussex Downs, just four miles from Lewes. Our address is Glyndebourne, New Road, Lewes BN8 5UU.
- A return shuttle minibus service will run from Lewes train station to Glyndebourne every 30 minutes from 11.00am to 2.30pm. This is free of charge and no pre-booking is required.
- We have a large car park which is free of charge to use.
- Please have your tickets or order reference ready upon arriving at the car park for checking.
- Backstage tours will start in the Organ Room, marked on our map here.
- Please arrive at the Organ Room five minutes before the start time of your backstage tour.
- The tours last 45 minutes and involve some walking.

- Our car park is free of charge. Electric car charging is available.
- Please note that only assistance dogs will be permitted on site.
- There are toilet facilities around the site.
- Please ensure children are supervised at all times, especially near the lake.
- Our Mildmay cafe will be open, serving a range of options including jacket potatoes, and cream teas. There is no need to pre-book these options.
- The Deli and Coffee Hut and bar in our Hamlet area will also be open, serving light bites and drinks.
- You are welcome to bring your own food with you and picnic in the gardens. There are picnic tables and benches available on a first-come-first-served basis. Our marquees and stretch tents will also be open, with tables available on a first-come-first-served basis. Please ensure that you take any litter home with you.
