Work experience

Glyndebourne runs a comprehensive programme of work experience placements and applicants from all backgrounds and with varying levels of practical experience will be considered. However, there is an enormous demand for places and not all applications will be successful. It is important that you make it clear why you want to do your work experience at Glyndebourne, which departments interest you and why. Glyndebourne is interested in hearing from a wide range of applicants, with different perspectives and experiences. We are happy to meet any access needs that we reasonably can; for some, we may need to do this in partnership with others (school/college etc.).

Unfortunately, we cannot place applicants who are under 16, and only those with relevant and thorough technical experience will be placed in our production or making departments.

Applications are no longer being accepted for 2014 work experience placements within the Administrative Departments. We offer a number of placements at Glyndebourne for local young people aged 16+ and still at school or college, and this year all those places have been allocated. We will begin accepting applications for for 2015 work experience in early September, and a downloadable application form will be made available at that time. If you have any questions please contact Rebecca Hurst at education@glyndebourne.

Glyndebourne's Stage Management and Costume Departments are not currently accepting any new applications for work experience placements.

The Glyndebourne Props Department are not currently accepting any new applications for work experience placements. They are currently reviewing their programme with a view to being able to offer an improved scheme in 2014.

Why is there a time limit?

Due to demand from other customers seats are reserved for a maximum of 20 minutes in order to allow you to complete your purchase. If the order has not been completed within this time, all seats will be removed from your basket.
