Work experience

Please note that the deadline for 2012 work experience placements within Glyndebourne's administrative offices was 1 February 2012. For this year our work experience programme is full. We will begin accepting applications for 2013 work experience placements in the autumn.

Applications are also being accepted for placements within the Costume, Props and Stage Management departments from those with relevant experience. A separate application form is required for work experience within these departments and can be found below.

Applicants from all backgrounds and with varying levels of practical experience will be considered. However, there is an enormous demand for places and not all applications will be successful. It is important that you make it clear why you want to do your work experience at Glyndebourne, which departments interest you and why. Glyndebourne is interested in hearing from a wide range of applicants, with different perspectives and experiences. We are happy to meet any access needs that we reasonably can; for some, we may need to do this in partnership with others (school/college etc).

Unfortunately, we cannot place applicants who are under 16, and only those with relevant and thorough technical experience will be placed in our technical or making departments (for example Stage Management or Props). Those with no experience can only be offered placements in administrative departments, but where possible opportunities will be provided to see rehearsals and/or performances. Many past applicants have still found the experience to be invaluable, and have often commented on how exciting it is to be in the unique atmosphere of Glyndebourne!

Why is there a time limit?

Due to demand from other customers seats are reserved for a maximum of 20 minutes in order to allow you to complete your purchase. If the order has not been completed within this time, all seats will be removed from your basket.
