What to bring

During the Festival

(May – August)

  • Tickets (or booking reference and card used to  make payment, if collecting from the Box Office)
  • Travel information or directions, including booking reference for the free Glyndebourne coach from Lewes train station if applicable
  • Booking reference if dining in one of the restaurants or ordering a Leith’s picnic
  • Programme book if purchased in advance
  • Additional warm layers of clothing or other protection against the British weather!
  • Sun protection if picnicking in the gardens on brighter days
  • Your own picnic or Leith’s picnic/restaurant booking information
  • Picnic blanket or table and chairs, plus plastic sheeting to cover your picnic in the event of rain
  • Please let us know in advance if you want assistance into the auditorium. If you did not discuss your access requirements with the Box Office when booking your tickets, or if those requirements have changed, please contact the Customer Service Department on 01273 815000.

To ease and enhance your visit, you will find:

  • Free car parking facilities
  • Changing facilities, if required, in the Plashett Building at the foot of the car park
  • The Glyndebourne Shop, open for the sale of the Festival programme book and a range of Glyndebourne-related items
  • The Archive Gallery, open on performance days with a free Festival-related exhibition from the Glyndebourne Archive
  • The Long Bar, open throughout your visit for the sale of alcoholic and soft drinks, tea and coffee, and a limited number of canapés and other light refreshments (please note that food and drink are not permitted in the auditorium)
  • A range of further dining options for afternoon tea before the performance or supper during the long interval, all of which must be booked in advance
  • A limited number of picnic tables, particularly for use during bad weather, situated on the Circle and Upper Circle levels and in the marquee next to the Archive Gallery. NB: availability of picnic tables is very limited. Where possible, we recommend you bring your own dining furniture with you
  • Dedicated and friendly staff who would like to make your Glyndebourne experience as enjoyable as possible. Please do not hesitate to approach us with any queries during your visit

During the Tour

(October - December)

  • The Glyndebourne Shop, open for the sale of the Tour programme book and a range of Glyndebourne-related items
  • The Long Bar, open throughout your visit for the sale of alcoholic and soft drinks, tea and coffee, and a small selection of sandwiches and cakes (please note that food or drink is not permitted in the auditorium)
  • A range of further dining options for pre- and post-performance dining, all of which must be booked in advance

Why is there a time limit?

Due to demand from other customers seats are reserved for a maximum of 20 minutes in order to allow you to complete your purchase. If the order has not been completed within this time, all seats will be removed from your basket.
