Trained at the Richmond School of Art, and the Royal College of Art, London,  John Piper was an official war artist in World War II. His work included designs for stained glass windows and tapestries for churches and cathedrals. His set designs for theatre include many premiere productions of Benjamin Britten’s work at Glyndebourne and elsewhere. © The Piper Estate
