The recording of Dvořák's Rusalka from the 2009 Glyndebourne Festival has been nominated in the opera category for a BBC Music Award. The winner will be decided by a public vote which closes on March 1.  The CD is available to buy from the Glyndebourne shop at a discount price for a limited time. About the recording

It was with sadness that Glyndebourne has learnt of the death of Welsh soprano Dame Margaret Price who died of heart failure at the age of 69 on 28th January. Described by The Guardian as “one of the most beloved singers of her generation,” Dame Margaret Price made her operatic debut with Welsh National Opera as Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro in 1962 and later stood in for Teresa Berganza at the Royal Opera House again as Cherubino, a performance which won her overnight fame.

Glyndebourne is proud to announce a new recording to be released on its independent CD label, Benjamin Britten’s chilling masterpiece The Turn of the Screw from the 2007 Festival, conducted by Edward Gardner with Camilla Tilling and Emma Bell.

One hundred years since the first performance of Der Rosenkavalier, Glyndebourne is proud to announce that the next recording to be released on its independent CD label will be Der Rosenkavalier from the 1965 Festival, conducted by John Pritchard with Montserrat Caballé as the Marschallin.
