Glyndebourne and Sky Arts today announced a new partnership, which will see Sky Arts become the official UK broadcast partner of Glyndebourne for 2009. The collaboration will centre on an exclusive live high definition broadcast from Glyndebourne of L’elisir d’amore on Sky Arts on Saturday 15th August. This live broadcast will be the culmination of a month of Saturday night programming of Glyndebourne operas on Sky Arts 2 and Sky Arts 2 HD.
A new book called Glyndebourne: A Visual History – edited by Brigitte Lardinois, Val Williams, with text by Sir George Christie has been published by Glyndebourne Publishing.
This pictorial history of Glyndebourne is published to mark the 75th anniversary of the internationally renowned opera house. A remarkable collection of over 450 photographs, the book not only sumptuously illustrates and showcases the work of Glyndebourne, but is also accompanied by personal anecdotal text written by Sir George Christie.
Middle and Over Wallop restaurant will re-open in May in a renovated space created by Miller Bourne Architects with interior designed by Nigel Coates and a new menu endorsed by Prue Leith.

Nigel Coates has designed 43 Swarovski Crystal Palace chandeliers entitled ‘Cloudeliers' exclusively for Glyndebourne's new restaurant that will open in May in celebration of its 75th anniversary.
