The 2008 Glyndebourne Festival promises to be an exciting season, which will build on the successes of 2007 when Festival Box Office closed at 97% capacity, 41,000 people attended Tour performances and Glyndebourne rapidly extended its new media plans to great effect. The pursuit of excellence is fundamental to Glyndebourne’s ethos and the 2008 season reflects this by fielding dynamic new creative teams and important debuts by both international and British performers and directors, while also welcoming back established artists and nurturing the talent of young singers.

Gus Christie Executive Chairman Glyndebourne Productions Ltd said:"We are delighted that Glyndebourne’s application to build a wind turbine, to supply the opera house with renewable energy and greatly reduce our carbon footprint, has been given the go-ahead by Lewes District Council. Climate change is one of the most important challenges facing our generation and it is imperative that we act now. We applaud Lewes District Council for their decision and would like to extend our thanks to all who have supported this project to date.
