Glyndebourne Tour 2012  sets out on a nine week tour of the UK from 4 October beginning at Glyndebourne, the Tour then goes on to visit; Woking, Norwich, Wimbledon, Covent Garden (Linbury Studio), Plymouth, Canterbury, Milton Keynes and Stoke-on-Trent. The Glyndebourne Tour blends exciting new talent and exceptionally high production standards, offering something for everyone, whether an opera newcomer or a seasoned aficionado.

An exciting new production, created by 30 young people from Brighton and Hove, premieres at Preston Park’s Velodrome on July 14th as part of the city’s Olympic Torch Relay celebrations. Vixen is the culmination of an ambitious youth project led by Glyndebourne in partnership with Central United Reformed Church Hove, the Brighton and Hove Youth Arts Project and the Youth Offending Service. The project is free to attend and open to everyone to enjoy.

The 78th Glyndebourne Festival presents 12 inspirational artists exhibiting more than 100 pieces of art and sculpture in the annual art collection that supports Glyndebourne’s Festival. Visual arts have long been integral to Glyndebourne and today, this area of work enhances our cultural output and compliments the annual Festival presenting a series of artistic and sculptural debuts that harmoniously synchronise with the 2012 Festival repertoire.

This year’s nomination is even more exciting as this is the first year the public can vote for the category of Best DVD.
