It is with sadness that we record the death of John Fryatt.

Johnnie first came to Glyndebourne in the 1970s and returned regularly over the next 30 years. He performed a wide repertoire from Albazar in Il turco in Italia, to Pisandro in Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, Sellem in The Rake’s Progress, Valzacchi in Der Rosenkavalier to name but a few, and brought great musicianship and stagecraft to each role. His last performances here were as Monsieur Triquet in Eugene Onegin in 1996. He lived in Sussex and will be missed hugely by his many friends at Glyndebourne.

Can you give any details of the funeral of John Fryatt and where any donations or flowers may be sent to.
He was a great friend to my Mother and they have been pen pals for many years. She would very much like to pay tribute to him as a brilliant performer and a valued friend who will be sadly missed.
