Glyndebourne nominated in 2014 International Opera Awards
Glyndebourne has been nominated in the Festival category of the second International Opera Awards. The Awards, which attracted over 1,600 nominations from around the world, aim to provide bursaries for emerging opera talent and to celebrate excellence in the world of opera.
Glyndebourne will compete alongside the Aix-en-Provence, Bregenz, Longborough, Pesaro and Wexford festivals in its category when the awards are announced on Monday 7 April.
A number of artists who will be appearing at Glyndebourne Festival 2014 are also nominated. Christiane Karg, competing in the Female Singer category, appears in Glyndebourne’s first ever production of La finta giardiniera this summer alongside Joelle Harvey who has been nominated for the Young Singer award.
In addition, regular Glyndebourne collaborators, designer Paul Brown, director Graham Vick and conductor Mark Elder are all nominated in their respective categories.
