Glyndebourne celebrates two nominations in the 2014 Gramophone Awards
Two Glyndebourne recordings are among six opera recordings shortlisted in the 2014 Gramophone Awards.
The Glyndebourne Label CD release of the 2011 production of Die Meistersinger starring Gerald Finley, and a DVD recording of the Glyndebourne Festival 2012 Ravel double bill directed by Laurent Pelly, have been shortlisted to win Opera Recording of the Year.
Glyndebourne has been investing in video recordings for over ten years while Glyndebourne’s audio recording dates back to the 1950s. Both technologies allow Glyndebourne to further its objective to share its work with new and broader audiences.
The annual Gramophone Awards shortlist is drawn from the most favourably reviewed new releases of the past twelve months and decided by a panel of judges, appointed by Gramophone magazine.
Category winners will be announced online on 27 August and presented with their awards at a ceremony on 17 September at which the overall Recording of the Year winner will also be announced.
