The Archive holds a wealth of material about the people, productions and origins of our world-renowned opera house. There are many items which reflect on key periods of our history, this section showcases a few of our favourite archive items. 

1952 Programme book – The 1952 Festival programme book

Dress worn to the first Dress Rehearsal in 1934 – Worn by Mrs Doris Armes to the first dress rehearsal at Glyndebourne in 1934.

Pea Pod Boat – This boat was featured in The Fairy Queen

Where The Wild Things Are – A trip into the Glyndebourne Archive reveals a wondrous operatic version of the classic children's book by Maurice Sendak, premiered by the Glyndebourne Touring Opera at the National Theatre in London in January 1984.

Why is there a time limit?

Due to demand from other customers seats are reserved for a maximum of 20 minutes in order to allow you to complete your purchase. If the order has not been completed within this time, all seats will be removed from your basket.
