Photography and audiovisual resources

Delve into the substantial photography and audiovisual resources held in the Glyndebourne archive

Photography

Our photography collection provides a visual record of every production performed at Glyndebourne and on tour, historical photographs charting the development of the house and theatre, and behind-the-scenes pictures, events, occasions and personalities.

Some of our archive and contemporary photography can be viewed on ArenaPAL, where image rights can be licensed for reproduction. ArenaPAL is the UK’s largest specialist image library for the performing arts.

A selection of archive images are available to buy as prints from the Glyndebourne Shop.

Videos, DVDs and audio recordings

The Glyndebourne archive has a complete collection of commercially released videos, DVDs and audio recordings.

The videos and DVDs include opera productions, gala concerts and the The House That George Built, a documentary about the rebuilding of the opera house.

The audio collection covers all commercially released recordings of Glyndebourne productions as well as compilations from 1934 up to 1993, in formats from 78s to CDs. Unfortunately, we are not able to loan out archival materials, but you can view them by prior appointment in the archive.
